A Note From The Memory Hole
As public discourse over budget deficits and health care continue to swirl around the bowl towards its inevitable conclusion, I’d like to take a moment to remind folks that it was St. Ronnie “the Communicator” and G.W. “the Fool” who first employed the reconciliation process to pass massive tax-cuts for the wealthiest Americans and opened the door to huge budget deficits. As any reader here will attest, I’m all about calling out Obama for this corporatist policies, but I am utterly sickened at the degree to which individuals are so openly hypocritical [or perhaps just plain ignorant] about deficits.

It appears that the bloody fools who are screaming their heads off that “Our grandchildren are going to have to pay for all of this spending!” are either completely disingenuous or are simple tools being whipped into a frenzy. Or maybe it is both. If you want to know why I am passionate about education, this is it. A democratic republic cannot endure without a voting populace that is at least relatively informed about concrete realities. As is we are fragmenting into mutually exclusive spheres of “realities” that only occasionally intersect empirical facts. </rant>
