TVA Air Monitors Fail To Detect Ash Rain
This is no longer national news, so TVA is back to humming along with business as usual. Shocker. Looks like those air monitors they’ve installed in Roane county are what folks in the sound reproduction business would refer to as decorative microphones… Fancy looking gadgets designed to make folks feel better while actually doing very little.*
On Friday September 18 several of us watched Harriman Mayor Chris Mason wipe the TVA “snow” from the top of his shiny head. We watched it land and accumulate on vehicles. The air monitors that TVA spokespersons tout as proving the air is safe never registered any of this was happening.
* The decorative mic is usually placed in front of large guitar amps in order to make the guitarist think that his already too loud guitar is actually being fed to the house mix when in fact your are mixing everything else around his self-absorbed ass.
